What should I say when asking for a Google review?
Keep it short and personal: thank them by name, mention the job or visit, ask for a quick review, and include a direct link. One or two sentences is enough. Long messages get skipped.
When is the best time to ask?
The same day, ideally within a couple of hours of the job or appointment. Ask in person first if you can, then follow up with a text or email that includes the link.
Can I text customers asking for reviews?
Yes, if they gave you their number and agreed to hear from you. In the US (TCPA) and Canada (CASL) you need consent, and every text should include a way to opt out, such as “Reply STOP to opt out.” The text templates include that line.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. Google doesn’t allow incentives for reviews, and offering them can get reviews removed. Ask every customer, not just happy ones, and never ask for a specific star rating.
How many times should I follow up?
